HoistPoint is an educational initiative advancing the Education Renaissance through courses, coaching, and community. HoistPoint combines classical educational principles with practical modern life skills to help prepare students for meaningful lives and responsible leadership. Our mission is to help cultivate a generation of thoughtful, ethical, and capable young leaders equipped to navigate an increasingly complex world.
Our Education Philosophy
HoistPoint believes education should develop the whole person—not only academic ability, but also wisdom, character, communication, and leadership. The program is designed to help students become more confident, thoughtful, articulate, and capable both inside and outside the classroom. Rather than focusing exclusively on memorization or test performance, HoistPoint encourages students to cultivate curiosity, discernment, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
About the Founder
HoistPoint was founded by Diane Hagopian, an educator, writer, leadership coach, and curriculum developer passionate about helping young people cultivate wisdom, character, critical thinking, and purpose in an increasingly complex world. Drawing from backgrounds in education, leadership development, communication, financial services, and mentorship, Diane founded HoistPoint in response to growing concerns surrounding modern education, youth wellbeing, digital culture, and the decline of meaningful life-skills formation.
Her work integrates timeless educational principles with practical modern competencies—including leadership, communication, discernment, financial literacy, personal responsibility, and ethical decision-making. Through HoistPoint and HoistPoint's Learning Lantern newsletter, Diane advocates for an “Education Renaissance” centered on whole-person development, thoughtful learning, and the cultivation of capable, ethical future leaders.
Why Leadership Formation Matters
Traditional education often emphasizes academics, but many students are never explicitly taught leadership, communication, resilience, discernment, or real-world life skills.
HoistPoint was created to help bridge that gap through thoughtful leadership development centered on wisdom, character, confidence, and purposeful growth.
Leaders to Legends supports whole-person development by helping students strengthen the intellectual, ethical, and practical foundations needed to navigate modern life with wisdom and confidence.
Students are encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively, act responsibly, and develop the habits needed to navigate modern life with integrity and resilience in overcoming the hurdles of life.

HoistPoint's Education Renaissance Open House: Reimagining How We Prepare Young People for Life
An Evening for Educators, Parents, and Community Leaders
Education is changing rapidly. Across the world, families and educators are asking important questions:
- What knowledge, skills, and virtues do young people truly need to flourish?
- Where are schools succeeding, and where are they struggling to prepare students for an increasingly complex world?
- How do we cultivate wisdom, character, resilience, leadership, and sound judgment alongside academic achievement?
- What might an educational renaissance look like in practice?
HoistPoint warmly invites educators, parents, and community members to join us for an evening of thoughtful conversation about the future of education and youth development.
The gathering will include:
- Reflections on emerging challenges and opportunities in education
- Open discussion on what educators and families are witnessing in today’s students and schools
- Collaborative dialogue on the knowledge, dispositions, and life skills that deserve greater attention in modern education
- A brief presentation introducing HoistPoint’s educational philosophy and leadership programs and exploring why intentional character and leadership formation may play an important role in preparing young people for life
This evening is designed to bring together thoughtful individuals who care deeply about the next generation and wish to contribute to an ongoing conversation about how we can better prepare young people—not only for exams, but for citizenship, relationships, work, and meaningful participation in society.
Wine, cheese, and light refreshments will be served in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
