What is HoistPoint?

HoistPoint and Its Mission

HoistPoint is an education and leadership company advancing an Education Renaissance rooted in wisdom, rigor, character, and intellectual sovereignty. Through innovative leadership programs, coaching, workshops, and community, HoistPoint seeks to help fill the growing gaps in modern education and better prepare youth for life, leadership, and the future.

Founded by educator and writer Diane Hagopian, HoistPoint was created in response to increasingly outdated, test-centric, and incomplete education systems that often neglect critical thinking, moral formation, leadership, real-world preparedness, and the cultivation of human potential. HoistPoint believes students deserve more than standardized outcomes — they deserve an education that uplifts, challenges, and inspires them.

The name “HoistPoint” is inspired by aviation: the hoist point is the location on an aircraft connected to lift and propulsion. In the same spirit, HoistPoint exists to help propel students toward their purpose, potential, and personal legends through transformative learning experiences and meaningful mentorship.

In addition to its leadership programs, HoistPoint publishes The Learning Lantern: Illuminating the Education Renaissance, a growing newsletter dedicated to education reform, parenting, pedagogy, intellectual development, leadership, and the future of learning. The publication extends HoistPoint’s mission beyond the classroom by equipping families, educators, and students with thoughtful research, reflection, and practical insight to help cultivate wiser, freer, and more capable future generations.

Meet the Founder

Diane Hagopian is a thoughtful educator, writer, entrepreneur, and the founder of HoistPoint, a platform dedicated to reimagining education for a changing world.

Educated at one of the world’s most prestigious boarding schools, Diane quickly distinguished herself as a high-achieving scholar with a sharp intellect and a deep sense of purpose. Her academic journey, marked by excellence and leadership, laid the foundation for a career that would span financial services, education, and social impact.

While earning her degree in Accounting, Diane became increasingly aware of how inequities in education fuel economic and social disparities. A pivotal experience at a United Nations' conference inspired her to shift course—from corporate ambition to educational transformation.

Today, Diane brings together her background in finance, leadership, and coaching to build bold solutions for the next generation. Through HoistPoint, she’s championing a powerful new approach to education—one rooted in critical thinking, real-life skills, and the kind of character development that schools often leave behind.
